President of the Syrian Negotiations Commission, Badr Jamous, held discussions with the French envoy to Syria, Ambassador Brigitte Curmi, and the French Consul General in Istanbul, Olivier Gavin, to address the latest developments in the political process in Syria.
During the meeting, Jamous underscored the imperative to propel the political process forward, emphasizing the need to prevent the Syrian people from becoming victims of cross-border militias and the Assad regime, which has resulted in Syria becoming a failed state.
Jamous highlighted the critical importance of increased political support and international efforts to bring an end to the ongoing Syrian tragedy since 2011. He emphasized the necessity of devising effective mechanisms to compel the regime to adhere to international resolutions on Syria.
The French delegation, in response, reiterated their country’s steadfast support for UN Resolution 2254 and the full implementation of all international resolutions that align with the aspirations of the Syrian people. They also affirmed France’s continued humanitarian support for the Syrian people.
