The Syrian N0egotiations Commission’s (SNC) 50 representatives in the Constitutional Committee held a virtual meeting at the invitation of the Committee’s Co-chair, Hadi al-Bahra, and in the presence of SNC’s head, Anas Abdah.
Participants in the meeting discussed preparations for the upcoming round which was called for by the UN envoy to Syria, Geir Pedersen, on August 24 according to the agreed upon agenda.
Abdah briefed the meeting on the latest political developments in Syria as he reaffirmed the SNC’s full support for the work of the Constitutional Committee.
Al-Bahra gave an overview on the communications and consultations the SNC held with the UN envoy to Syria as well as on the agreement with him to hold the third meeting of the Drafting Committee in Geneva next month.
Participants listened to a report by members of the Drafting Committee on their work during the past period and provided an explanation of the legal papers prepared by the team. (Source: SOC’s Media Department)
