The Syrian Opposition Coalition’s (SOC) political committee held a regular meeting chaired by President Salem Al-Meslet to discuss the latest political and field developments in Syria. During the meeting, the committee focused on the recent Amman statement, emphasizing that Syria requires a comprehensive solution enforced by the UN resolutions, including the 2012 Geneva communique and Resolutions 2118 and 2254.
The committee strongly denounced the exploitation of the dire humanitarian situation in Syria and the recent earthquake as a pretext for normalizing relations with the Assad regime.
In addition, the committee discussed the arrest warrant issued by the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court against Russian President Vladimir Putin. It stressed the importance of issuing a similar warrant against Bashar al-Assad due to his involvement in the Ukrainian war and his heinous crimes against the Syrian people.
Ahmed Tomeh, a member of the political committee, briefed the attendees on the recent meeting at the Ministry of Defense in the Syrian Interim Government. The meeting was attended by Head of the Syrian Interim Government Abdurrahman Mustafa, dignitaries from Jinderes, and relatives of the victims of a recent crime that took place in the town. Participants emphasized the importance of upholding the rule of law to protect the rights of all citizens.
