The Syrian Women’s Authority will hold working meetings on Friday and Saturday in the Turkish city of Sanliurfa, in partnership with the Stabilization Support Unit. This initiative is part of the Authority’s efforts to expand the participation of Syrian women in the public sphere and political work.
Participants will include coordinators from various working groups: the Unions and Federations working group, the Jazira and Euphrates Committee, the Legal working group, the Refugees and Displaced Persons working group, and the Civil Society Organizations working group of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC).
The meeting will feature a brief political update on the latest developments in Syria, followed by a presentation on the activities and achievements of the SOC’s working groups. This will be followed by an open discussion aimed at generating recommendations to further activate the role of Syrian women in the public sphere. The goal is to enhance their contribution to the SOC’s working groups and increase their participation in decision-making processes within the SOC and in the political process overall.
