Thirteen civilians, including three children, were injured on Monday morning in two attacks by Assad regime forces on the village of Kafr Nouran in the western countryside of Aleppo. The attacks involved four suicide drones.
The Syrian Civil Defense said that the first attack began at 6:00 AM on Monday with three suicide drones targeting residential areas in the village, resulting in the injury of one civilian. The second attack occurred around 9:30 AM with a single drone targeting an area with shops and vegetable markets in the village, leading to the injury of 12 civilians, including three children, with some sustaining serious injuries.
Abdulrahman Emo, a volunteer medic with the Syrian Civil Defense, recounted that while responding to the attack, he saw a wounded civilian, injured in the attack, riding his motorcycle to help another injured child. Emo noted that the number of injuries was significant, and civilians were rushing to reach the hospital.
Jihad Mar’i, a member of the political committee of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC), condemned the attack, emphasizing that the international community’s failure to hold Assad accountable for his crimes has allowed the regime to commit further atrocities against innocent civilians.
Mar’i stressed that holding the Assad regime accountable for the brutal crimes it has committed against the Syrian people will not be forgotten with time, and no entity will be able to cover them up, no matter how long it takes.
