President of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC), Salem Al-Meslet, has written a letter to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah Al Saud, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Sameh Shoukry, regarding the recent developments in Sudan and the urgent need for assistance in evacuating Syrian nationals trapped there.
Al-Meslet highlighted that the SOC had received numerous appeals from Syrian refugees who are currently trapped in Sudan, including Syrian students studying in Sudan and their families, who are currently stranded in Khartoum, which is currently experiencing intense fighting. He emphasized that the infighting in Sudan has trapped several Syrian families who are now caught in the crossfire.
Al-Meslet called for assistance in evacuating Syrian refugees from Sudan by securing safe passages, stressing the need to act urgently to ensure the safety and well-being of these vulnerable refugees. (Source: SOC’s Media Department)
