Member of the Syrian Opposition Coalition’s (SOC) political committee, Muhammad Yassin, stressed that Russia’s use of Assad regime experts in the manufacture of barrel bombs for its invasion of Ukraine confirms the criminal nature of both regimes.
Yassin said that the partnership between the Assad regime and Russia is not designed to serve peace, but to carry out the biggest possible number of war crimes in line with the criminal natures of the Russian occupation and the criminal Assad regime.
Yassin pointed out that the continuation of the battles and the heavy cost of the war prompted Putin to hire criminals from the Assad regime to manufacture cheap weapons capable of killing the largest possible number using the least costly means.
He stressed that Putin and Assad will continue to spread international terrorism and commit war crimes unless the world takes a firm stance to put an end to the ongoing crimes in both Syria and Ukraine.
Yassin also said that this exposes the catastrophic consequences of the international failure to hold the Assad regime accountable, which poses a serious threat to international peace and security.
