Activists said that rebels clashed with regime forces in Sheikh Najjar near Aleppo, killing 16 pro-Assad militants and wounding scores more. Mortar shells struck the faculties of Economics and Arts at the University of Aleppo, killing 12 students and injuring dozens. Assad’s warplanes dropped barrel bombs on Al Kindi Hospital and on the neighborhoods of Handarat, Masaqin Hanano and the Industrial CIty near Sheikh Najjar, while rebels destroyed a tank and a BMP vehicle belonging to Assad’s forces during the clashes in the village of Bureij northeast of Aleppo.
