Activists said that death toll in the town of Talbeesah north of Homs rose to 40, mostly civilians, as a result of intensified aerial bombardment. The victims include Mohammed al Dahiq, a rebel commander and a number of rebel fighters. Regime forces have intensified aerial and ground bombardment on many areas in northern rural Homs since Monday. Twelve civilians were injured as a result of rocket shelling on the district of Al Waer west of Homs. The Syrian Coalition described the military escalation by regime forces against the town of Talbeesah as “cowardly brutal crimes and comes in a series of similar continuous crimes affecting many cities and town across Syria, crimes which aims to cover up the despair experienced by the Assad regime and the militias fighting on its side. The Assad regime is exploiting the international community’s busyness with fighting ISIS.” The Syrian Coalition renews its calls for the international community to take “a firm position and act immediately to stop these crimes. We also call for prioritizing the fight against the Assad regime in the international plan to fight terrorism and to support the Syrian Revolution and help the Syrian people achieve their aspirations for freedom, justice and dignity.” (Source: Syrian Coalition + Sham News)
