Assad’s warplanes intensified air raids and artillery shelling on the town of Maliha near Damascus, alongside violent clashes between the Free Syrian Army and regime. Regime forces closed down a number of roads in the town of Jaramana near Maliha amid reports of the regime’s intention to storm the town. Violent clashes broke out between the Free Syrian Army and regime forces in the district of Jobar, while Kafr Batna came under fierce missile shelling, killing and wounding dozens of civilians. Regime forces also carried out barrel bomb attacks on Beit Jann and Zabadani, while fighters of the Islamic battalions repelled regime forces who were trying to infiltrate the outskirts of Douma.
