Assistance Coordination Unit (ACU) organized a meeting on April 29 with donor states in Gaziantep, Turkey. The meeting was attended by Faisal Yelmaz, Turkey’s custodian of Syrian refugees in Turkey, Ahmad Tomeh, Syrian interim PM, Badr Jamous, Secretary General of the Syrian Coalition, Ibrahim Miro, Minister of Finance and Economy in the Syrian interim government, Osama Qadi, Executive Director of ACU, in addition to representatives of friendly countries and some international organizations. Qadi briefed the attendees about the range of activities and the work of the Unit in the previous period, and revealed plans for the future in the next phase to ensure that it continues to offer relief and services for the Syrian people. Qadi also presented the first quarterly report of 2014, which details the work of ACU in the first three months of this year. Due to the catastrophic humanitarian situation at home and in refugee camps, Qadi calls upon the donor states to step up support for the Syrian people. He also briefed the attendees on the second version of the Dynamic Monitoring Report which was prepared by ACU and contains updated information on the needs of the liberated areas. Moreover, the report details ACU’s management of the Qatari gift to budget relief and service and projects. At the end of the ACU meeting, representatives of the donor states were presented with certificates of appreciation as a token of gratitude for their assistance and cooperation.
